National Pension Scheme Calculator
Result
Illustrative annual retirement savings future value under fixed-return end-of-year contributions; not an official NPS benefit quote.
Formula
- Enter a hypothetical annual contribution, fixed annual growth rate, and savings horizon. The result uses the ordinary annuity formula for contributions at each year end. It excludes tax rules, fees, rate changes, retirement age rules and product-specific limits. A zero interest rate is mathematically FV=A×n but the current calculation motor has a division-by-zero limitation. This is not an official NPS estimate or a promise of investment returns.
- The main inputs are Annual contribution, Annual rate, Years. Enter them in the units and format shown in the calculator.
- Use monetary amounts, rates and time periods exactly as labeled; the result reflects the assumptions entered on this page.
- Changing any input above recalculates the result with the same calculation engine used by this page.
Example: National Pension Scheme
- Annual contribution: 5000
- Annual rate: 8 %
- Years: 20
Using Annual contribution = 5000, Annual rate (%) = 8, Years = 20, the calculated result is Future value: 228809.8214905818.

Frequently asked questions
What does the National Pension Scheme calculate?
Illustrative annual retirement savings future value under fixed-return end-of-year contributions; not an official NPS benefit quote.
Which values should I enter?
Enter Annual contribution, Annual rate, Years using the units and format shown beside each field.
What formula does this calculator use?
The calculator uses the following relationship: Hypothetical end-of-year level-contribution annuity model: FV = A × ((1+r)^n − 1)/r where A = annual contribution, r = entered annual percentage rate / 100, and n = entered number of years. This engine assumes a constant annually compounded rate and contributions made at the END of each year. At r = 0 the mathematical limiting value is FV = A×n, but the current engine divides by zero and cannot calculate that case. It does not implement the statutory National Pension System (NPS) terms of any country, charges, taxes, withdrawal or annuity rules..
Why might my result differ from another source?
Results can differ when another source uses different units, rounding rules, conventions or assumptions. Compare the inputs and definitions before comparing results.
Does the result update automatically?
Yes. Changing an input updates the result using the same calculation engine shown on this page.
