Same minutes and games. Preview only.
The calculation, explained
Rating = round(clamp(50 + 15 × (3G/M + 2A/M + CS/M), 1, 99))
15 goals, 8 assists, 25 games → 86.6 → 87
G = goals, A = assists, CS = clean sheets, M = games played. Minutes support contribution metrics; they do not change the rating.
This model does not measure pace, passing accuracy, defensive actions, league strength or quality of opposition. More data is needed for scouting.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an official FIFA or EA rating?
No. It is an illustrative ST formula on a 1–99 scale, inspired by collectible player cards. Official EA SPORTS ratings use a different system. Neither FIFA, EA SPORTS nor Opta endorses this calculator.
How are position presets different?
The original model uses goal, assist and clean-sheet multipliers of 3, 2 and 1 for every position. Position-weighted mode uses the visible custom table: Forward 3 / 2 / 0.5; Midfielder 1.5 / 3 / 1; Defender / Goalkeeper 0.5 / 1 / 4. Selecting a position alone changes only the label in Original mode.
Why do minutes matter?
Minutes per goal contribution = minutes divided by (goals + assists). With no goals or assists, that interval is undefined and shown as a dash. Minutes do not affect the rating in either model.
How should I count clean sheets?
Use a consistent definition across the dataset. The linked Opta definition describes a player or team not conceding for the full match. Do not mix fantasy-game clean-sheet rules with full-match statistics. Clean sheets cannot exceed games played.
Does the scenario add matches to my record?
No. The preview adds 0–10 hypothetical goals while keeping assists, games and minutes unchanged. Only Apply scenario writes those goals into the form, then resets the extra-goals slider to zero. It is not a forecast.
Why does a player with no goals still score 50?
The original formula has a 50-point starting value, so nonnegative statistics produce a rating from 50 to 99. The advertised 1–99 clamp is retained for compatibility; scores below 50 are not reachable in this model. Tiers are illustrative and should not be used to compare real player quality.
