Calculation & Assumptions

Session cost
= hourly rate × session hours
Weekly cost
= session cost × weekly sessions
4-week budget
= weekly cost × 4
Annual cost
= weekly cost × 52
Per player cost
= court cost ÷ players sharing

Totals are calculated before rounding; each displayed amount is rounded independently to two decimal places. Equal shares may require a final-cent adjustment.

Plan a Realistic Playing Budget

Use your venue’s quoted hourly court rate. If it charges per 45-minute slot, convert the price to an hourly rate first: slot price × 60 ÷ slot minutes.

The 4-week budget covers 28 days. Annual projections assume the same schedule for 52 weeks, not twelve 4-week periods. Allow for holidays, closures and missed sessions.

Equipment hire, memberships, taxes and cancellation fees are excluded unless already included in the hourly rate you enter. The example rate is illustrative, not a market quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a 4-week budget different from a calendar month?

Four weeks cover 28 days. Calendar months are usually longer. This calculator labels its 4-week budget explicitly and calculates the annual projection as weekly cost × 52. At $180 per week, four weeks cost $720 and 52 weeks cost $9,360.

Does the estimate include equipment hire?

Only if equipment hire is already included in the hourly rate you enter. Otherwise add it separately, along with memberships, taxes and any booking or cancellation charges.

Can I split the booking cost?

Yes. Enter the number of participants sharing the fee equally. This changes the per-player cost but not the total court cost. It does not state how many people the venue allows on court at once.

Does changing currency convert the rate?

No. Currency selection labels your amounts in USD, EUR, GBP, TRY or INR. Enter the actual local hourly rate; no exchange rate is applied.

How does the discounted-rate comparison work?

Enter a real alternative hourly rate from your venue. The calculator uses the same duration and weekly schedule to compare weekly and 52-week court costs. Membership or joining fees are excluded, so an apparent court saving is not a net membership saving. Close the comparison to exclude it.
